Youth ministry at church
June 8th



Kris has been honored to be able to teach in the youth group at our church in the past few months. Since the youth pastor and his wife have been in the states for the birth of their 2nd child, Kris and an Albanian named Beni, have been teaching on Sunday mornings. Kris really relished these times. On this particular Sunday Kris taught on Psalm 37:4. The kids were really interactive and had a lot of questions for Kris after church.


Here is Kris with his translator, Andi. Kris used the broccoli and a chocolate candy bar to illustrate how we know what is good for us (the broccoli) but, if given a choice, we usually choose the thing that is bad for us (the chocolate). This was a great illustration of our choice to obey God or to sin. The kids love these visual illustrations.

Sadly, I missed hearing Kris teach this message because I was teaching the 9-12 year old kid's Sunday school class. However, I was thankful for the opportunity to teach the kids a lesson from Jeremiah 30-33. What a great message of hope and restoration! It was a little hard to make this an interesting lesson but thank God it was a natural bridge to the gospel message.


This is Beni and Jayne Sinani with their daughter Isabelle. This dear family has taken over the leadership of the youth group in the absence of the youth pastor. They have also become sweet friends of ours. They have faithfully attended a weekly prayer meeting at our house for months. Beni, an Albanian national, is a contractor and general handyman. Jayne, a stay-at-home mom and free-lance architect, is from America. Jayne has served in ministry in the Balkan states for the past 12 years. We are grateful for their commitment to God's kingdom. We are praying that Beni will have the funds to enroll as a full-time student at the seminary.
