June 13th
The missionary school, GDQ, that Kaitlyn, Whitney and Sierra attend, put on their annual awards ceremony and program on Friday the 13th. This was also the last day of school for the girls. It was a blessing to watch our girls participate with their classes in performing a song, reciting Scripture or acting in a skit. Each of the girls has blossomed this year at school. Kris and I are so thankful to God for this school and it's teachers that are committed to a solid education (it is more rigorous than what they were getting in the states - Sierra has been learning division in her 1st grade class!) as well as a wonderful Christian world view.
Kaitlyn's class performed two skits. Kaitlyn was the stewardess in the air plane skit. She did a superb job. In fact, it was so good that her teacher gave her the award for "Most likely to become and air hostess". Hopefully, Kaitlyn will follow her desire to be a mother/missionary/singer/writer. Wow!
Whitney's class sang a funny song about life in Tirana. They also displayed their artwork based on famous artists. Whitney's was her thoughts on a work of Matisse. Since her favorite subject is art, it was no surprise that she got the award for "Outstanding Achievement in Art".
Sierra's class quoted a psalm and sang a praise song. It was great! Sierra received the "Elizabeth Award for Friendship" from her teacher. She is a super friend and is usually the first one to share around the house.
We praise God for our children who are a "gift", a "reward" and a "blessing" (Psalm 127) from Him. Thank you for continuing to pray for the salvation of Whitney, Sierra, and Breanna as well as the spiritual growth of Kaitlyn. They all have soft hearts towards God and we covet your prayers as we seek God's help to cultivate that.
